I've found the guilty party!
Everyone gathers in the drawing room where Hercule Poirot unmasks the
villain...
I had a little hack called WBGauge which put back the "fuel gauge
thingy" on disk windows. Not only did it hit once on initialization,
removing it has cured the "Two hits when I click Workbench", the hit I
had on the Program$ = Peek$ etc. line and the continuous strwam of
Virus Checker II hits!
Be warned, WBGauge is naughty.
